Miss Philippines –previously known as a part of Binibining Pilipinas-, took a new place in the beauty world, especially after the year of 2018 when Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray won the Miss Universe 2018 and set a new high standards of “intelligent beauty” a full package of charisma, charm, smartness, healthiness and respect.
Miss Philippines is sometimes mixed up with Miss World Philippines and Miss Universe Philippines but the original event was the Binibining Pilipinas (that started 56 years ago) which is our main theme in this article; the points mentioned will be respectively about the Binibining Pilipinas 2019: when, where, who and how. Furthermore, the events details, talents, categories and results. But the other contests mentioned previously will take a part of this article to get a step closer to the beautiful spirits who participated and to those who were qualified to the finals.
First of all, starting with the Binibining Pilipinas 2019, it’s the 56th Binibining Pilipinas pageant that happened at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, Philippines, on this date: 9 June 2019. The Miss Universe Philippines 2019, Gazini Ganados of Talisay, Cebu was crowned at the ending of the event by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and she will be representing the country for Miss Universe 2019, while Miss International 2018 First runner-up Maria Ahtisa Manalo crowned Patch Magtanong of Bataan as Binibining Pilipinas-International 2019 and she will represent the Philippines for Miss International 2019.
The competition also included four titles awarded to Philippine representatives to four minor global beauty pageants. Miss Supranational 2018 Top 10 Finalist Jehza Mae Huelar crowned Resham Saeed of Maguindanao as Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational 2019; Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Juanita Gallman topped Emma Tiglao of Pampanga as Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental 2019; Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International 2018 Eva Psychee Patalinjug topped Samantha Ashley Lo of Cebu City as Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International 2019 and; Miss Globe 2018 Top 15 Finalist Michele Theresa Gumabao topped Leren Bautista of Laguna as Binibining Pilipinas-Globe 2019.
The event, was given an added value due to the presence of the judges in the coronation night. Every judge with his specific and unique perspective gave his point of view and his opinion at the right place and in the right time to share their experiences with the contestants and the world. The judges (and their occupations respectively) are : James Reid (Actor & Performer) – Bobby Barreiro (Head of Integrated Events & Customer Engagement for ABS-CBN) – Brian Cu (President of Grab Philippines) – Nadine Lustre (Actress & Performer) – Giorgio Guglielmino (Italian Ambassador to the Philippines) – Christian Standhardinger (Filipino-German Professional Basketball Player) – Rainerio Borja (President of Asian Region for Alorica) – Gloria Diaz (Actress & Miss Universe 1969 from the Philippines) – Daniel Padilla (Actor & Performer) – Jorge Moragas (Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines) – Joy Belmonte (Mayor-elect of Quezon City and Chairwoman of Board of Judges).
Regarding the 40 official delegates, they will be representing some of the provinces, cities and municipalities, and some regions of the Philippines.
About the categories in this contest, first of all concerning the National Costume category delegates were representing regions, wearing outfits from varied designers; and list (delegate; designer; region) was as shown next:
The winner “Emma Mary Tiglao” was wearing a custome designed by Richie Sabinian representing “Pampanga”;
Leren Mae Bautista wearing from Chico Esteva & Renee Salud, representing Laguna; Maria Andrea Abesamis wearing from Amir Sali, representing Pasig; Vickie Marie Rushton wearing Jomar Peralta representing Negros Occidental; Hannah Arnold wearing Benj Leguiab IV representing Masbate; Samantha Mae Bernardo wearing Patrick Isorena representing Palawan; Cassandra Colleen Chan wearing Tony de Ramos representing Bacolod; Samantha Ashley Lo wearing Edwin Uy representing Cebu City; Jessarie Dumaguing wearing Jobel Silvestre representing Puerto Princesa; Resham Ramirez Saeed wearing Ryan June Castillo representing Maguindanao.
The second category was the Talent Competition, The 2019 Binibining Pilipinas Talent competition was held on March 30 with seventeen delegates showcasing
their talents respectively in many forms and various ideas. The Top 3 were announced on May 29 after the national costume competition. Those 3 are : Samantha Mae Bernardo representing Palawan; Cassandra Colleen Chan representing Bacolod; Alanis Reign Binoya representing Batangas.
The Best in Talent award was declared on pageant night, and the award went to Cassandra Colleen Chan.
Since we were talking about the talents, a talent most of the contestants had was the ability to reply to the various questions, in contemporary various fields, in a smart way; which is a great helpful step so they can score up.
