Southeast Asian games also known as SEA games. This event was hosted by the Philippines, therefore, it is also known as the Philippines 2019 and it is amazing to know that the Philippines were hosting this event for the fourth time; it was the 30th audition of SEA games. 

This audition was more remarkable because e-sports (video games) and obstacle courses were included. It is interesting to know that this event was having the highest number of sports in the history of the games which were 56 games. 

Hosting duties of the SEA games are rotated among the SEA member countries but they have the choice to become a host or withdraw from the hosting rights. 

Total budget and ticket cost

The total budget that spends on the 2019 SEA games was near about ₱7.5 billion to ₱6 billion which was provided by the government and also avail sponsorship from PHISGOC. They were also offering a fixed ticket fee for a specific sport but the sports that are less popular their ticket fee was less than the other popular games. 

Opening ceremony 

The opening ceremony of SEA games held at New Clark City. This opening ceremony was an inspiration for the 2017 SEA Games that were hosted by Malaysia. Various famous artists like the member of black-eyed peas perform in this ceremony. While the Ryan Cayabyab performed on a Philippines traditional instruments. 


In 2019 SEA games 11 members from different countries take part in this event, in the below there is a list of those participants they belong from:


The SEA games that held from 30 November to 11 December 2019 got more attention because of 530 events held place in 56 games and considered to be one of the mega events in the history. 

The games were divided into 3 categories and include sub categories with specific games. Following is the list of games was included in this event:

Category 1 Games

Category 1 consists of one subcategory and includes 3 games which are given in the below table:

·      Water polo

Category 2

In this category there are further 3 subcategories in which Team sports include 13 games; combat sports include 9 games while the individual sports include 24 games. The lists of games are given below:

Category 3

Category 3 further divided into 3 subcategories. In team sports it include 4 games, in combat sports include 5 games while in individual sports it include 5 games. The list of games is given in the below tables:

2019 was one of the most thrilling auditions of SEA games in which a total number of 530 Gold medals, 528 silver medals, and 726 bronze were distributed among the winners. The Philippines beat all of the 10 teams and ranked first in all games and got higher medals in all 3 categories: 

  • Gold 
  • Silver 
  • Bronze 

In which they got 149 gold medals, 117 silvers medals, and 121 bronze so they total win 387 medals. While East Timor did not perform well and remains on last with the least achievements in all 3 categories with 0 Gold medals, 1 silver, and 5 bronze so they get a total of 6 medals and remain the last winning team. The closing ceremony 

This was one of the biggest events in which almost 8750 athletes from 11 countries took part and it was held for 10 days. This event was quite surprising in many ways, most of the team that was expected to perform well and were expected to win most of the medals but unfortunately they disappoint their fans like the Singapore team was expected to perform best but they did not perform well. 

For the first time, they introduced a new game e-sports and distributed medals to the winners of this game. This mega event ends on Wednesday with a rocking closing ceremony. This time good luck was with the Philippines and they prove their self best in various games through their top-quality performance and ranked high in all of the categories and win the highest Gold, Silver, and Bronzes.The closing ceremony of Sea games 30th audition held in athletics stadium in which many musicians perform but black-eyed peas stole the heart of people through their amazing performance. This grand event ends on 11 December 2019 but people will remember this fantastic event for a long time.
