To support distance learning and remote working, the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) has lifted the ban on video calling service for five mobile apps.
Residents of the UAE can now fully access Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Blackboard. Meanwhile, Microsoft Skype for Buisiness and Google Hangouts are only fixed with internet networks.
“In context of current situation, and as part of the TRA’s efforts to support distance learning and working from home, the TRA — in coordination with the UAE telecom operators — announces the availability of a group of applications, exceptionally until further notice,” TRA said in a statement.
