Starting Thursday, 8pm, all public utilities, transports services and metro in the UAE will be suspended as part of the national sterilization program to combat the spread of coronavirus.
The program kicks off on Thursday night at 8pm until Sunday, 6am. This will be done by the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Ministry of Interior in coordination with all relevant federal and local entities.
“Throughout the sterilization period, traffic and public movement will be restricted, and public transport and metro services suspended,” Gulf News reported.
During the sterilization period, the public is advised to stay at home and only leave their homes if it’s necessary.
Individuals who will go out during the period will be requested to show their labor cards and IDs to make sure they work in vital sectors, such as energy, telecommunications, health, security, and police sectors.
