Here’s where to get further information about the Php10K OFW financial assistance

-

Several OFWs are now asking about the ‘one-time financial assistance’ that was recently announced by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), which amounts to Php 10,000.

According to a press release published on DOLE’s website, ‘for the OFWs whose employment was affected by the pandemic, DOLE will be also providing a one-time Php10,000 assistance.’

In a now-deleted Facebook live by the Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes, he said that they haven’t received the complete guidelines on how OFWs can avail it, or its scope.

In a Facebook post, Cortes shared information on who to contact regarding the one-time financial assistance.

The following entities are endores by the Consul General for OFWs where they can get further information about the program:

  1. Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) sa Dubai

Website: http://www.polodubaiportal.org
Email: polodubai@ymail.com
Contact no: +97150652 6626

According to March 25 reports, around 70,000 displaced OFWs due to the coronavirus pandemic will receive the cash.

In its website, DOLE wrote that OFWs should submit their certificate of employment issued by their respective agencies to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) when in their host country, or to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) when in the Philippines.

OWWA’s hotline in the Philippines is (02) 1348, while 0632-1348 is the hotline for Filipinos outside the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Jeddah’s Labor Attache Nasser B. Munder, in a statement, urged Filipino expats in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to send their full names, mobile number, and name of the company’s contact number to philippinelaboroffice.jeddah@gmail.com or call their hotline number at +971569819720 while waiting for the full guidelines.
