‘Lord, bless the world,’ Pope holds rare blessing at an empty St. Peter’s Square in Italy

-

‘Lord, bless the world,’ this is the message of Pope Francis in a rare second Urbi et Orbi, which literally translates ‘to Rome and the world.’

“Our faith is weak and we are fearful. Do not leave us to the mercy of storm. Tell us again, do not be afraid. And we together with Peter cast all our anxieties to you because we know that you care for us,” the Pontiff said.

Pope Francis delivered the rare blessing at an empty St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome Italy.

The country is one of the most hard-hit by the new coronavirus with death toll exceeding that of China.
