Over 400 residents in Naif, Deira have undergone Covid-19 test conducted by professional healthworkers in an effort to curtail the spread of coronavirus.
The nighborhood was visited by a team of about 40 health professionals from Aster Clinic in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Police.
The process of test include summoning one member of each apartment to be tested for coronavirus.
The medical practitioners ask questions regarding the resident’s travel history, underlying symptoms of cough, sore throat, cold and then take throat swabs.
“These swabs were being sent for testing to the government virology laboratory. People have been requested to be in quarantine until receiving the results,” Dr. Jobilal Vavacha, CEO of Aster Clinics and Hospitals, said in a Gulf News report.
As for residents with suspected Covid-19 patients, showing signs of cough, colds, sore throat and fever, they are taken in standby ambulances to isolation wards until results come out.
“They will be discharged once their results return negative or be treated in isolation for Covid-10 as the case may be,” Dr. Jobilal added.
