Filipino doctor: Just stay home for now, boost your immune system

-

Prime Medical Centre’s General Practitioner Dr. Daffodils Guevarra affirmed that the global situation ‘shall too pass’ as the world curtails the spread of coronavirus.

In a video conference conducted by the Filipino Institute, the Filipino doctor also clarified the proper way on how to wear face masks by ‘showing colors’.

She clarified that there are so many types and brands of face masks that are emerging but still, the best protection is to cover one’s mouth, nose and eyes which are considered the barriers.

“You get infected because the droplets go inside your mouth, nose and eyes, that’s why it’s very important to wear masks,” Dr. Guevarra said.

Masks which are designed for cleaning the household, on the other hand, will just refrain one from inhaling dust–thus won’t protect someone from inhaling the droplets.

“Three-ply masks will protect you from inhaling these,” she said, noting that N95 masks are one of the best masks to be worn but wearing it for a very long time may result to some respiratory complications.

For now, according to the Filipino medical practitioner, aside from protecting oneself from getting the virus is to stay home and boost immune system.
