Php 10,000 aid for OFWs will be limited to 150,000 OFWs for now

-

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced via national television that the Php10,000 cash aid will be limited to some 150,000 OFWs both in the Philippines and abroad.

DOLE’s Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that they are still awaiting for President Rodrigo Duterte’s approval of the budget allotment for OFWs whose work has been affected by the pandemic coronavirus.

“As soon as we get the budgetary allotment, we can immediately remit cash remittance to our OFWs. We have confidence that the president will approve that,” Bello said.
