UAE imposes AED50,000 fine on 129 residents for violating quarantine protocols

A total of 129 residents have recently been caught by UAE authorities for violating the strict quarantine measures during the national disinfection period.

Those residents who will violate the home quarantine protocols will be referred to the Emergency and Crisis Prosecution if the violation is committed for the third time.

Third-time violators will be jailed for a minimum of three years or fined a minimum of AED100,000 as per the law.

Meanwhile, first time violators will only be fined AED50,000 once a report is filed and the offender is informed of his or her violation.

The fine will be to AED100,000 for second-time offenders.
