The Philippine Embassy in UAE reminded OFWs who are returning from the host country to the Philippines of the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
“Ang Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF)…lahat ng mga OFWs, land-based or sea-based, ay kailangan dumaan sa 14-day facility quarantine pagkaratingsa Pilipinas,” the statement read.
For land-based workers, the 14-day quarantone will be conducted in a government-designated facility.
Meanwhile, for sea-based workers, they will be quarantined in foreign cruise ships, private quarantine accommodation that will be prepared by vessel owner or in a government-designated facility.
A Facebook post has gone viral recently regarding the quarantine period, claiming that returning OFWs were not fully informed about it.
Facebool user Camacho Joshua also mentioned that some of the returning OFWs were exempted from the 14-day quarantine period and were allowed to leave the airport freely.
