POLO-Dubai receives 8,852 cash assistance applications; total evaluated 2,338

The Philippine Overseas Labor Offices announced that it has received 8,852 applications for the DOLE-AKAP assistance as of April 18, 2020, 7pm.

The DOLE-AKAP assistance is initially given to OFWs who have been terminated due to Covid-19. A total of AED 730 will be distributed.

But new guidelines have been updated earlier, a top official announced that even those on ‘no work no pay’ arrangement can benefit from the assistance.

“Marami hong nakapah submit na. Antay antay lang po tayo. Salamat po sa lahat,” Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes said in a Facebook announcement.
