The Philippine National Police has deputized ‘stormtroopers’ to man a checkpoint operation in a town to curtail the spread of coronavirus and ‘ease tensions.’
According to the Facebook community page, this happened in a town called Consolacion in Cebu. The ‘stormtroopers’ are members and the 501st Cebu Scarif Garrison, a costuming club based in the Philippines.
They were also put in place to help bring smiles and goodwill to passing motorists.
