Philippine’s senator Nancy Binay reacted to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for requesting the government of Taiwan to deport an overseas Filipino worker for allegedly attacking President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a tweet, she reminded labor officials on their sworn responsibilities to protec the welfare of Filipino workers abroad instead of harassing them.

Binay said labor authorities should not become the new ‘makapili’ during these times. The term ‘makapili’ is used to describe treacherous Filipinos who acted as spies of the Japanese during World War II.
DOLE-Taiwan has recently accused a caregiver for posting ‘nasty’ and ‘malevolent’ comments against the Philippine president on social media. She reportedly asked Taiwan for the deportation of the OFW.
