More than 85,000 overseas Filipino workers worldwide have already received the cash assistance being given by the Philippine government through the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Out of 336,809 requests, only 85,849 OFWs have been granted with the Php 10,000 or USD 200 cash assitance from the Php 1.5 billion emergency aid program for displaced OFWs due to coronavirus.
Currently, according to the Department of Labor and Employment, they have already distributed an amount of Php 482.9 million to 47,239 qualified OFWs.
