The World Health Organization (WHO) said that the new coronavirus that’s killing thousands of patients since December is predicted to be endemic-like HIV.
“It is important to put this on table: this virus may become just another endemic virus in our communities, and this virus may never go away,” WHO emergencies Mike Ryan was quoted in a Gulf News report.
Ryan added that everyone should be realistic and he doesn’t think that anyone can predict when this deadly pandemic will disappear.
“I think there are no promises in this and there are no dates,” he further added, noting that the world, however, the world had some control ocer how it coped with the disease, although it would take a massive effort even a vaccine is found.
Several clinics are now developing the vaccine than can tackle the virus, but until now, no one has ever developed fully.
“The trajectory is in our hands, and it’s everybody’s business, and we should all contribute to stop this pandemic,” WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.
