A typhoon has has battered some parts of the Philippines early on Friday, May 15, which was equivalent to Hurricane Category 4.
Vongfong’s (international name) gusts brought of up to 212 km/h in eastern Visayas and the Bicol region.
Meanwhile, southern provinces near the capital are have also experienced the wrath of Ambong (its local name).
Ambo is the first typhoon to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this year.
The typhoon is expected to continue wreak havoc in the island of Luzon until Saturday, May 16.
Floods and landslides were also seen in Visayas and Bicol region and strong winds particularly in eastern Visayas, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate, Quezon Province, Calabarzon and Manila.
