Dubai Police looking for volunteers to join bike patrols to hand out masks and raise awareness

-

The Dubai Police is urging the residents to volunteer in their initiative to raise awareness on how to stop the spread of the new coronavirus.

Volunteers will be allowed to use Dubai Police bicycles to spread awareness and distribute face masks around the city.

“The initiative aims to raise awareness about precautionary measures which contribute to preventing the spread of coronavirus. It is part of the ‘We Are All Responsible’ campaign launched to support the fight against Covid-19,” Col. Mohamad Alhi, deputy director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dubai Police, said.

The initiative is called ‘Ride with Dubai Bikers Unit’ wherein volunteers will patrol streets in Dubai on bicycles to educate people in the importance of social distancing and distribute protective gear, such as masks, to those who aren’t wearing in public.

Volunteers will be patrolling in the area of JBR, Arabian Ranches, City Walk, Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Boulevard and Al Khawaneej.

Those who are interested to join need to register in their website.
