A California-based biotech company is claiming that they have discovered an antibody that blocks Covid-19 infections completely.
Sorrento Therapeutics claims its STI-1499 antibody blocked Covid-19 from entering 100 percent of healthy human cells in petri dish experiments.
According to their statement, they can produce up to 200,000 doses of the antibody per month. Upon making the antibody, they have filed for emergency approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). No green light hasn’t been given to the company as of this writing.
“We want to emphasize there is a cure. There is a solution that works 100 percent. If we have the neutralizing antibody in your body, you don’t need the social distancing. You can open up a society without fear,” CEO Dr. Henri Ji told a Fox interview.
The antibody hasn’t been tested for humans just yet.
