Two Filipino international fashion designers join Dubai’s fight against Covid-19

- Advertisment -

Two Dubai-based Filipino fashion designers have joined an initiative to help the government’s fight against the spread of the new coronavirus.

Michael Cinco and Furn One are joining the five designers for an initiative called #AThread4Cause by helping frontliners by creating personal protective equipment (PPE), including surgical masks and isolation gowns.

Over 9,000 people and 385 companies have pledged to support the initiative in UAE, Gulf News reported.

Cinco, a renowned Filipino fashion designer here in Dubai that has dressed celebrity names such as singer Jennifer Lopez, Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, is taking part in the initiative.

“In exceptional circumstances such as this pandemic, it’s more important than ever to stand together. The future is not bleak and it;s crucial that we provide people with something to believe in. We need to demonstrate the sense of belonging, community spirit and light that only fashion can bring to the world,” Cinco said in a joint statement with his business partner Sayed Ali.
