The Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) in Dubai in a statement reminded displaced overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) that the distribution of AKAP AED730 (USD200) cash assistance is subject to availability of funds.
“Muli naming ipinapaalala na ang desisyon sa aplikasyon ay naayon lamang sa nakalaang pondo (subject to availability of funds) para sa displaced OFWs sa Dubai and the Northern Emirates,” the statement read.
It also added that the system they’re using is ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
“Ang anumang aplikasyon na hindi ipinasa sa link ng aming website ay hindi bibigyan ng kaukulang aksyon. Gayundin, ang mga aplikasyon na kulang o mali ang requirements ay hindi ipoproseso,” it added.
As of May 11, the agency has received 56,450 cash assistance applications and has evaluated 23,000 applications.
Meanwhile, the government agency also claimed that more than 7,000 applications have already been approved. Of the approved application, only 5,361 have recieved the one-time financial assistance from the national government here in Dubai.
