Filipinos in Dubai launch FB group where you can swap stuff with goods

-

- Advertisment -

A Filipino couple in Dubai has recently launched a Facebook group called ‘Amicable Barter Community in Dubai’ (ABCD) where residents can barter stuff with goods.

In the group, residents are bartering their materials, including plants, guitar, pre-loved bags among other things, with a few bags of rice.

ABCD was founded by Filipino HR professional and life coach Lou Olvido-Parroco and her husband Cesar Rocky Parroco on Mayy 22. Currently, the group has more than 2,000 members.

Lou has started when she organized a live bartering programme on Facebook in April wherein she traded some of her favorite branded items–including three Louis Vuitton bags, one-limited edition Burberry bag and one Van Cleef & Arpels accessory–in exchange for sacks of rice to be sent to needy families in the Philippines whose livelihood has been severely affected by movement restriction.
