As the UAE government exerts all its efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, the cases are still high with an average of 500 to 700 cases for the past few days.
A top health official revealed that the number of Covid-19 cases in the country continues to increase is due to gatherings held by families and friends in the country.
“We must all avoid gatherings. Residents should avoid going to crowded places. Everyone is responsible for their safety and that of their family members and the community,” Dr. Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, one of the health ministry’s spokesperson, said in a press briefing.
Despite easing the travel restrictions in the country, Al Shamsi recommends the public to follow the strict precautionary measures to contain the spread of Covid-19, including wearing of face masks and practicing good hygiene.
“Resuming business is very important for the nation. But reopening economic activities doesn’t mean the precautionary measures have been lifted,” she added.
