Global pharmaceutical major Pfizer claimed that Covid-19 vaccine to put Covid-19 to end could be ready by the end of October this year.
According to Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, the company has been conducting clinical trials in the US and Europe for the BNT162 vaccine program to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Pfizer has teamed up with German mRNA company BioNTech.
“If things go well and the stars aligned, we will have enough evidence of safety and efficacy for us to feel comfortable, for the FDA (Us Food and Drug Amininistration) to feel comfortable, and for EMA (European Medicines Agency) to feel comfortable, to have a vaccine around the end of October,” Bourla said at a virtual event organized by the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and amp; Associations (IFPMA) this week.
To date, over 120 vaccines have been proposed around the world, however, there are only at least 10 candidate vaccines in clinical evaluation and 115 candidates vaccines in pre-clinical evaluation.
