The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said that it will temporarily suspend its Covid-19 swab testing for all overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and non-OFWs arriving in the country.
In a statement, the PCG has stopped the testing as of June 1 due to lack of stock of testing kits.
“We do not have enough stock of the testing kits to be used on all OFWs scheduled to arrive at the NAIA,” PCG NAIA terminal 2 officer in charge Editson Abanilla said in a Manila Bulletin report.
More than 500 seafarers and land-based OFWs have arrived from Kuwait to NAIA’s terminal 2. They didn’t undergo swab testing.
The swab testing will resume once the kits are available.
