‘OWWA NASAN KA?’ Stranded OFWs waiting for flight to province under a bridge

A group of returning overseas Filipino workers are spotted under the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway in Pasay City waiting for their flight to their provinces.

In a photo shared by ABS-CBN, the caption reads that most of these stranded Filipinos are OFWs.

They have been stranded now for days due to Covid-19 quarantine restrictions.

Many are asking about Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) as they are needed by OFWs.

“Nasaan ang malasakit sa kapwa? Nasaan ang matatalinong policy makers na dapat mayroong responsibility para sa kanila?” one comment read.

Another Facebook user wrote, saying that OFWs, who have been helping their home country and its economy, don’t deserve this treatment.

“They are the reason why we have huge dollar reserves that cushions our economy during this time of pandemic crisis. Hello, OWWA?” the Facebook user added.

Just recently, a stranded OFW mom has died waiting for a bus ride to Bicol.
