The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently announced that 30,000 expatriates stranded outside the country have been approved to return.
Khaled Abdullah Belhoul, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) the return of the expats with valid residence visa were given between March 25 and June 8.
He also announced that the country is eyeing the return of some 200,000 residence visa holders to the UAE.
The next phase of the initiative will focus on the return of families.
