A Filipina based in New York has been making much of her time making masks that promote special messages amid the global pandemic.
On her Instagram account (hiraya_handmademask), Carla Mongado handcrafts face masks not only to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus but to spread words that promote oneness among the Filipinos despite the chaos.
Mongado’s face masks are ‘crafted with love’ and are washable and reusable.
Manually crafting the masks, she uses cotton fabrics that are breathable and perfect for any season. She describes her masks as ‘breathable, comfortable and affordable.’
Masks are also available in three sizes: for kids, teens and adults.
