Dubai is all set to create a 1-kilometer ‘Raining Street’ at its Heart of Europe project.
In a The National report, it quoted Kleindienst Group that it is developing ‘The World Islands’ off the coast of Dubai where the street that rains all year round will be built.
The temperature in the street will be kept to 27 degrees Celsius, allowing visitors to remain comfortable while outdoors.
The intensity of the man-made rain will be adjustable with a ‘downpour, a breeze or moderate rainfall depending on the weather.’
In the summer season, visitors can expect a ‘heavy rainfall.’
The idea was conceptualized by the Austrian architect Camillo Sitte who proposed to build cities where everything was within walking distance.
“With the temperature ranging between 40 to 50 degrees Celsius during summer. people are not going to walk outside. Therefore, we need a technology to create an outdoor climate-controlled area,” Josef Kleindiesnt, chairman of Kleindienst Group told The National.
The rainy street will be located in Main Europe, next to Portofino family hotel, Marbella hotel and the Cote d’Azur resort, a cluster of hotels inspired by the lifestyle in southern Europe.
