PH government assured OWWA won’t go bankrupt amid Covid-19 pandemic

-

The Philippine government won’t let the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) go bankrupt amid the Covid-19 pandemic, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing.

Roque’s assurance came after OWWA’s Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac asked for an additional budget for the repatriation of OFWs. He also noted that PhilHealth won’t go bankrupt as well.

“Ang OWWA at PhilHealth, hindi po natin papayagang ang gobyerno na malugi sa panahon ng pandemya,” Roque said.
