At least 4,600 stores in the United States are set to close within 2020.
According to a Business Insider report, Microsoft, GNC, Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, Nordstrom, Sears, Forever 21, and Wallgreens are among the retailers that are planning to close stores this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield estimated that the number of store closing this year could be even higher than previous records. The same firm estimated last year, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, that as many as 12,000 major chain stores could close in 2020.
