The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) warned Filipinos abroad and in the Philippines against job offers being advertised on the internet.
The agency cited the website www.careerzonline.com that looks to make factory workers in Taiwan. The website requires an applicant to be at least college level, and offers a job with $23,000 basic salary.
“Promising or advertising for employment abroad, whether for profit or not, when undertaken by non-licensee or non-holder of authority is illegal recruitment. Huwag po patulan ang mga ganitong advertisement ng trabaho abroad,” POEA said in a Facebook post.
