A top official from the Taiwan government announced zero new Covid-19 cases, marking 80 days without a new local infection on July 1.
Minister of Health and Welfare and Central Epidemic Command Centre (CECC) head Chen Shih-ching said that the country’s total number of cases stands at 447.
Taiwan, since the outbreak began, has conducted a total of 76,883 Covid-19 cases, with 75,925 coming back negative.
Of 447 total confirmed cases, 356 were imported, 55 were local and 36 came from Navy’s ‘Goodwill Fleet.’
To date, seven people have succumbed to the virus, while 438 have already been discharged from hospitals. There are only two people still undergoing treatment for Covid-19 in the country.
