Before you travel to Abu Dhabi to visit a friend or for work, you need to know that the Abu Dhabi Media Office has recently updated the guidelines for entry to the capital.
“Those leaving Abu Dhabi for short period may visit a screening centre in the emirate to conduct a Covid-19 test before departing and present the result on return,” the announcement on Twitter read.

The Covid-19 negative result will be valid for entry if it’s received within 48 hours.
“Presenting a test result more than 48 hours after the receipt is valid, and a new test must be taken outside the emirate at any hospital o any screening centre affiliated with the National Screening Programme, to comply with the requirement to present valid negative test result received within 48 hours to enter Abu Dhabi,” it added.
The latest move is part of the authorities’ efforts to curtail the spread of the new coronavirus.
