All household service workers (HSWs) will now be required to secure a good conduct certificate before entering the UAE.

The new rule was announced by a top official from the labor department during a virtual session of the Federal National Council.

Maids and nannies coming from Kenya are now required to get the certificate. According to resources, it will be extended to domestic workers of other nationalities.

The certificate must be obtained from their home countries.
