Visit visa holders in UAE are only given 2 options: leave the country or change visa status

In a new and amended resolution in UAE, all tourists and visit visa holders whose visas expired after March 1 are only given two difficult options: leave the country in one month of change their visa status to avoid fines.

Brig. Khamis Al Kaabi, spokesperson for the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), confirmed the new rule in a local TV interview.

The move follows the recent UAE Cabinet decision that canceled all previously issued resolutions related to the residency permits.

Meanwhile, expatriates whose residence visas expired from March 1 to 31 are given 90 days to renew their documents starting July 12.
