A top official from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) confirmed that all overseas Filipino workers who tested positive for Covid-19 are prioritized for the Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP) one-time financial aid if they wish to get the cash assistance of Php10,000 or AED730.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III told The Filipino Times that despite the status of the OFW, he or she will be immediately prioritized for the financial assistance.
“Basta Covid-19 positive, whether documented, undocumented, whether nawalan ng work or naka-no-work-no-pay, immaterial na yun. Automatic priority ka at entitled ka sa AKAP assistance,” Bello explained.
