Pinay pastry chef gives free cakes to distressed OFWs in Qatar as a symbol of hope

- Advertisment -

A Filipina based in Qatar has been giving free cakes to distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) even before Covid-19 pandemic.

Pastry chef Rose Buds Purificacion has been actively distributing free ‘sunflower cakes’ to OFWs as a symbol of hope. The beneficiaries are those who have been redundant.

Purificacion has been nominated at PEP’s Nominate Your Idol online campaign.

During the pandemic, she was not only giving away free sunflower and mukbang cakes, but she was also actively distributing grocery packs to the Filipinos who have been terminated from work or on a no-work-no-pay scheme.

While giving out cakes, Purificacion also conducts free baking workshops to her fellow OFWs.

“Nag-start ako ng free baking workshop para sa mga kababayan kasi financial problems halos ang hinaing nila. Naging way din iyon ma-divert iyong mga isip ng kababaihan sa madilim na pinagdadaanan nila. Nagkakaroon sila ng kaliwanagan sa buhay,” she added.
