There’s one more public holiday in UAE this month and it’s going to be a long weekend again!

The Islamic New Year this year will fall this month. 

The Sharjah Centre for Astronomy and Space Science announced that the expected date of the beginning of Islamic New Year will be on August 20, astronomically speaking. 

The expected date will be the start of Muharram, the first day of the 1442 Hijri New Year. 

In an Instagram post of the Sharjah News, the centre said that Thursday, August 20, will be the beginning of the new Hijri year, which is considered as a public holiday in UAE.
