A group of Filipino seafarers in China’s Beijing Port has been stranded for nearly three months already inside a shipping vessel.
Facebook Jename Prias Dabuco messaged The Global Filipino Magazine seeking for help to let her brother, Jay Dabuco, go back to the Philippines.
“Malapit tatlong buwan na po siyang nasa China at stranded doon. Parang dini-delay kasi ng employer nila yung pagpapauwi sa kanila kaso walang papalit,” she wrote, adding that Jay is working for a fishing vessel company called Var Orient.
She also noted that there was already a commercial ship bound for the Philippines, however, the employer hasn’t allowed them to go.
Jename also said that the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen has already reached out to the Filipino group.
