Over 300 more Filipinos fly from Dubai to Manila via DFA chartered flight

- Advertisment -

More than 300 Filipino nationals from Dubai have flown from the emirate to the Philippines on Monday, August 10 via a chartered flight organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

In a tweet of Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes, the repatriated Filipinos via a DFA chartered flight using the assistance to nationals fund.

In previous interviews, Cortes mentioned that majority of the Filipinos being repatriated from Dubai are visit visa holders, pregnant women, and senior citizens.

Those who want to avail of the repatriation program in the UAE are urged to email the consulate and Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

As of August 8, DFA announced that more than 124,000 land-based and sea-based OFWs have been repatriated overseas since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic.

Many Filipinos abroad have lost their jobs due to Covid-19. The mass repatriation for OFWs and non-OFWs has begun in April.
