Are you a Qatari resident and currently stranded outside the country due to Covid-19?

The Qatari government has recently launched an exceptional entry permit portal where you can apply. The portal has been up since August 1.

Employers can use the portal to secure a permit for their employees. Freelancers with valid QID, on the other hand, can submit their application directly.

Below are the steps on how to secure the permit and enter Qatar:

Step 1: Log in at Qatar Portal and create a new account if you don’t have an existing one.

Step 2: Click on ‘Apply for Exceptional Entry Permit.’

Step 3: Review the terms and conditions and prepare all the requirements before proceeding with the application.

Step 4: Fill out the needed information.

Step 5: Enter your email address to get the approval of the application.

Step 6: Print the approval email and show this at the airport staff. Returning residents are also required to show a copy of the quarantine undertaking.

The entry permit is valid for one month and it covers the family of the residents.

Additionally, holders of the permit must download EHTERAZ app when they arrive at the Qatar airport.

If a passenger came from a low-risk country, he needs to present a negative Covid-19 test result from an accredited hospital. The certification should be valid within 48 hours after departure.

Meanwhile, those residents who came from a high-risk country need to present a hotel reservation from one of the accredited establishments. The quarantine period is one week upon arrival in Doha.

In case the result is positive, the returning traveler must be placed in an isolation facility. If the result is negative, the resident will proceed to the hotel quarantine for seven days.

Upon arrival at the airport, the passenger has to present the following documents:

– Passport

– Qatar residence card

– Entry permit

– Hotel quarantine undertaking

– Covid examination certificate

– Copy of the hotel reservation for quarantine

The portal can be accessed in this link.
