With an alarming increase in COVID-19 cases recently, a government official in UAE warned that curfew timings may be reintroduced in some parts of the country with a high number of infections.
The country has seen the number of cases rose this week to over 400 for the first time since mid-July. The total number of infections has now reached 72,283 and 369 fatalities as of August 22.
National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) spokesman Seif Al-Zahri said in a TV interview that the national sterilization program, which had included a night-time curfew, will be possible in certain areas where they observe high infection cases.
