Expired UAE visit visa holders have only until September 11 to leave with no fines

As per the latest announcement from the UAE authorities, visit visa holders, whose visa expired after March 1, 2020, have only until September 11 to leave the country without incurring fines.

Visit visa holders with expired visas after March 1, 2020, were given a month from August 11 to exit the country without paying fines. They have also an option to stay in the country by obtaining a visit or employment visa.

The new rule was announced by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) on August 10.

In their Twitter account, it said that the extension was part of the country’s national initiative launched by the UAE and in implementation of the UAE Cabinet’s related decisions and regulations.

The rule was also announced by Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

If one fails to leave the country, the violator has to pay the overstaying fines after September 11, 2020.

Overstay fines for visit or tourist visas:

-AED200 for the first day

-AED100 each consecutive day

-AED100, as a service fee

ICA has also announced that those residents with expired residence visas will have up to November 17 to exit the country, without incurring any fines or a ban re-entering the country.
