President Rodrigo Duterte announced on Monday that about 33,000 college-level kids of OFWs will be given a one-time grant of P30,000 as education assistance.

The assistance will be given for college-level children of displaced, non-returning, repatriated, or deceased OFWs affected by the pandemic.

Qualified beneficiaries shall be ‘enrolled or are intending to enroll’ in a state or local university or college as well as other private higher education institutions recognized by the Commission on Higher Education.

“Ang tulong po sa edukasyon sa mga anak niyo nito is a one-time grant of P30,000. The project will be allotted with the amount of P1 billion which will benefit about 33,000 students from OFW families,” he said.
