Bantayan airport in Cebu now at 50% completion

Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) General Manager Steve Dicdican recently led an inspection team to assess developments in the on-going construction of the Bantayan Airport in Cebu today, 12 September 2020.

Based on the assessment, the Bantayan airport project is now 50% complete. The scope of the project includes the extension and completion of the partially concreted runway, which is now at 70% progress rate, while the construction of the perimeter fence is 30% complete.

According to GM Dicdican, the project is on track and is even ahead of its projected target completion by December 2020.

“Bantayan is indeed a beautiful place, so we have to make our airport beautiful as well,” MCIAA GM Dicdican expressed.

According to a report published on Philippine Information Agency website on August 9, the airport, which us part of the Build Build Build project of the current administration, will open its gates by December 2020.
