New UAE law: Salaries of women in private firms should be equal those of men

- Advertisment -

A new federal law has been approved and announced today stating that the salaries of women in the private sector should be equal those of men.

The new law will take effect starting tomorrow.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued Federal Law No. 6 of 2020. In the first article, it states that woman and men must have the same salaries if they hold the same position or if they are doing the same type of work.

It was approved in relation to empowering women in the UAE and urging them to join the private sector.
