A 24-year-old man in Dubai is currently on trial for bribing a police officer with a total of AED3,000 after getting caught not wearing a face mask.
The defendant, according to local reports, was caught in April by an officer during the movement restrictions to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
When inspected, he was found with no face mask and no movement permit.
While in the police station, he tried to bribe the police officer with AED3,000 cash just to let him go.
However, the police told the station director about the incident and he was then referred to the prosecutors.
