Dr. Fermin G. Castillo Jr: An educator on a mission

- Advertisment -

For him, being a teacher is not what he does, it’s who he is. Dr. Fermin G. Castillo Jr. has been working overseas as an educator for over 13 years now. He is holding the rank of Associate Professor at the age of 39 and is the first Filipino to be accepted as faculty of the University of Sharjah, College of Business.

For more than a decade teaching students and touching their lives, he has already helped thousands of students abroad and in the Philippines through his teaching prowess. For years, he had mastered management, marketing, and strategic management that eventually led him to unprecedented success.

Now 39 years old, he had spent half of his life teaching undergraduate and post-graduate levels in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Unapparelled Achievements

Dr. Castillo is not just a mere professor. He also holds a valid teacher’s licensed/board exam and certification in his field: education, quality management, and human resource management. He also completed the Case Teaching method training offered at Harvard Business, Boston, MA., USA. Additionally, he also completed the Stanford Entrepreneurship and Innovation cohort project.

From 2012 to 2013, he received four international recognitions in teaching and research are given by various organizations in Hong Kong, UAE, and Singapore, while at the University of Fujairah, he was given recognition by TURNITIN, namely: Business School Leadership Award and Global Innovation Award.

Playing an active role in scholarly and research activities, he has already attended more than 70 specialized training and workshops initiated by UNESCO, USA, and National Research Foundation, UAE.

To date, he has more than 50 research papers published in distinguished journal publications with conference papers presented in more than 20 countries across the world.

Dr. Castillo wasn’t just born to raise the flag of the Philippines in the global arena as one of his advocacies is to see OFWs nurture their dreams and be licenses teachers.

This advocacy made him offer a free SPLE LET review session during weekends in his home. Under his mentorship and coaching, last year two of his mentees topped the Board Exam for teachers in the UAE.

With wide and extensive learnings in HR, he also provides training on CV writing and interview preparations for jobseekers through seminars and workshops.
