Rare coins are worth collecting. People who are inclined to collecting coins are called numismatic. 

While it’s interesting to collect coins, it provides one many hours of pleasure. 

A Reddit user on r/Dubai shared how he collected a total of 18 one dirham coins while living in the emirate. 

My collection of rare 1 Dirham coins from r/dubai

The user, u/alphaq01, explained the coins he has collected. 

He has the following rare coins: 

Sharjah, Cultural Capital (1998), Fortieth Anniversary of 1st Crude Oil Shipment (2003), Tenth Anniversary of Sheikh Hamdan Award (2007)

UAE Scout Golden Jubilee (2007), NBAD 35 Year Anniversary (2003), DIFC 5 Year Anniversary (2009)

Abu Dhabi Police Golden Anniversary (2007), Honoring Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak – Mother of the Nation (2005), Dubai Islamic Bank – 25th Anniversary (2000)

Global Village 20th Season Celebrations (2017), Higher College of Technology – Tenth Anniversary (1998), General Women’s Union 25th Anniversary (2000)

Fifty years of formal education (2003), Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Golden Jubilee (2015), First Gulf Bank 25th Anniversary (2004)

50th Anniversary of First Oil Shipment (2012), 30th Anniversary of First LNG Shipment (2007), Sheikh Zayed Islamic Personality (2000)

He also shared that he has other rare coins including the NBD 35th Anniversary (1998) coin and the coin that was released on World Environment Day (2009).
